New FEC Filings Show Texas GOP Holding Solid Cash Reserves

The Republican Party of Texas is maintaining a solid and financially stable position following recent leadership changes, according to the newly filed Filed Elections Commission reports.

Despite criticism during the June state convention that party finances were in poor standing under former chair Abraham George, the latest filings show the opposite: a stable balance sheet. The party ended June with $592,553 in cash on hand in its federal account. After accounting for roughly $244,000 in outstanding liabilities tied to legal fees for ongoing litigation seeking to close Republican primaries, the federal account retains a net surplus of about $368,000.

When combined with approximately $209,000 held in the party’s state account, the Texas GOP is entering the fall election cycle with more than half a million dollars in net operational capital.

George was defeated in his bid for re-election as chairman at the June 2026 state convention and was succeeded by D’rinda Randall. The updated numbers provide a contrast to speculation surrounding the party’s finances during the June 2026 RPT convention in Houston. Inquiries into convention overhead and organizational funds began to emerge during the leadership election, in which former chair George was succeeded by Randall, who had previously served as the party’s vice chair

With stable balance sheets confirmed across both federal and state accounts, Texas Republicans are in a good position to allocate resources towards grassroots mobilization, voter registration, and candidate support across the state.

The party’s leadership expressed confidence that this cash position provides the necessary momentum to preserve key seats and advance republican principles up and down the ballot this November. As the midterm elections approach, the Texas GOP remains focused on party unity and delivering conservative victories for Texas voters.
