Harris County Commissioner Republican Candidate Funded Democrats, Including Kamala Harris’ Fundraising Arm

A Republican candidate running for Harris County Commissioner Precinct 2 has been found to have donated hundreds of dollars to Democrats.

As recently as the last election cycle, Raquel Boujourne—who is vying for the Republican nomination for Harris County Commissioner Precinct 2—made political donations to Democrat candidates working against conservative policies.

During the 2024 cycle, Boujourne donated $250 to Texas State Rep. Mary Ann Perez, a Democrat, with a history of supporting socialist policies.

Perez has repeatedly voted against Republican-led legislation, including voting against protecting Texas’ border with Mexico, school choice, and increasing penalties for voter fraud. During the 2021 legislative session, Perez was among the many Democrats who broke quorum in the Texas House to stop Republican-led legislation, including an election integrity bill and bail reform. She has also voted against school choice, border security measures, and pro-life legislation.

In addition to donating to Perez’ campaign, Boujourne also contributed to ActBlue Texas during the 2024 presidential race. Boujourne’s donation records show she sent $250 to former Vice President Kamala Harris’ fundraising arm in May 2024, while President Donald Trump was fighting for the presidency on his campaign trail.

Despite these donations, Boujourne claims on her campaign website that she supports protecting conservative values. However, her financial contributions sing a different tune. For example, Harris supported radical left-wing policies such as supporting murdering unborn babies and gun control laws that would ban certain firearms and require a universal background check.

The other Republican candidate in the race is U.S. Army Veteran and pastor Richard Vega.

Vega has received endorsements from Republican Texas State Senator Mayes Middleton and U.S. Congresswoman Mayra Flores. According to his campaign website, Vega has led efforts to remove explicit materials from school libraries, protect girls’ sports, and defend parental rights.

The Republican primary election will be held on March 3, 2026. Early voting is scheduled to take place from February 17 through February 27.
