Texas AG Cracks Down on Developers of Radical Muslim City Amid Illegal Operations

As Muslims continue to infiltrate Texas and bring Sharia law into the state, Attorney General Ken Paxton has made it clear that their illegal operations have no place in Texas.

Earlier this year, Paxton uncovered evidence that entities connected to the East Plano Islamic Center’s (EPIC) land development project violated several federal and state securities laws and regulations.

In early December, following a referral from the Texas State Securities Board, Paxton was given authority to hold EPIC City’s entities and individuals accountable. EPIC City is a planned for-profit development that would be a community-centered residential area designated for Muslims. The ‘City’ is just about 40 minutes away from Dallas, centered in Josephine, Texas.

According to Paxton’s lawsuit, EPIC and Community Capital Partners (CCP) are engaging in an “illegal development scheme that violated Texas securities law.”

CCP is an entity formed by EPIC to purchase and develop a 402-acre lot in Hunt and Collin Counties. On the acreage, they plan to build 1,000 residential units, private schools, commercial and retail centers, and a mosque.

Paxton claims that the CCP violated the Texas Securities Act, including engaging in fraudulent practices while soliciting funds. Promotional materials, including their website and multiple videos advertising the community, implied that the community was targeted and reserved for those of the Islamic faith.

Additionally, the developers of the Muslim city promised not to funnel a significant amount of the funds into their own pockets; however, it was revealed that the individuals did. It was further found that for more than 10 percent of those who purchased securities, the CCP failed to verify their status as “accredited investors,” which is required by law.

In a press release by Paxton, he states that he will uphold Texas law and protect Texans from people who try to hurt them through fraudulent means.

“The leaders behind EPIC City have engaged in a radical plot to destroy hundreds of acres of beautiful Texas land and line their own pockets,” said Paxton. “I will relentlessly bring the full force of the law against anyone who thinks they can ignore the rules and hurt Texans. The unlawful land project known as EPIC City will be stopped, and those responsible will be barred from ever creating another fraudulent operation like this again.”

Just before Paxton’s lawsuit, Gov. Greg Abbott designated two radical Muslim groups, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. The proclamation “authorizes heightened enforcement against both organizations and their affiliates and prohibits them from purchasing or acquiring land in Texas.”
